Book review: You let me in by Lucy Clarke

This is one of those books that causes you to walk into work the next day like a zombie because you just wanted to read ‘one more page’ and then before you know its 2am…whoops.  It has twists and turns and makes you question everyone and everything in the story.

What’s it about?

Elle Fielding is an international best-selling author (ironic?). She has everything, or so it may seem to her fans, but when she decides to let out her perfect Cornish house on Air B ‘n’ B during a holiday things haven’t felt the same and Elle’s story and secrets start to unravel.
Elle begins to notice things in the house which make her question the person who she let stay and if they were really who they say they were.

As the story unfolds, we learn more about Elle’s past into becoming a best-selling author and different characters are introduced making you suspect their motives. It’s hard to know who to trust or if it’s actually all in Elle’s head? Expect to be surprised by the reveal and give yourself enough time to read to the end as you won’t want to put it down!

Was there anything I didn’t like about it?

My only critic of the book is that it is quite long with over 400 pages and I felt that the start of the story began quite slowly. Although it is gripping, this didn’t happen more towards the middle-end for me and think it could maybe have been condensed in parts. So if you do decide to read I advise you to stick with it as its worth it!

Overall I give this book a 4 out of 5 and I am definitely going to be checking other books from this author!

Let me know what you think if you have read it or if you have been reading any good books lately?

Thanks for reading!
